Lisa is the author of nine books and a national keynote speaker with 25 years experience. She has been consulting, researching, writing and speaking on substance abuse, addiction, treatment, mental illness, underage drinking, and help for the family since 2003. Her 40+ years experience with family and friends’ alcohol abuse and alcoholism, her own therapy and recovery work around those experiences, and her research for her blog and most recent book, Crossing The Line From Alcohol Use to Abuse to Dependence, frame her work.

Shelley Richanbach: Peer Facilitator and Founder of Next Steps For Women

Next Steps For Women is a an accessible and safe private studio created for women of any age. Shelley is a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor; a Certified Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) Facilitator and trained in Expressive Arts therapy. Beyond her private practice, Shelley is a peer facilitator and advocate for Voices of Recovery San Mateo County where she works to change perceptions, policies and laws to improve the lives of the recovery community. As a wife and mother of 3 adult children, and in long-term recovery herself, she comes with first-hand knowledge about the struggles and challenges when addiction is experienced as a family and the skills and tools to cope and thrive.

Cathy Taughinbaugh: Life Coach, Author and Founder of TreatmentTalk.org

Cathy is a mom of three adult children and former San Mateo teacher. She has over 10 years experience with teen and young adult experimentation, substance abuse, relapse and recovery from drugs and alcohol. She learned how to step in, maneuver and co-parent through the many issues involving wilderness programs, treatment centers and sober living environments. She started writing a blog on the subject over two years ago and is the author of 101 Natural Highs for an Amazing Drug Free Life. Cathy is a Parent Ambassador for The Partnership at Drugfree.org.
